Day 1 Bordeaux
Arrival at Bordeaux Merignac airport. Welcomed by your English speaking tour leader and driver. Transfer to your hotel in Bordeaux. Check-in to your hotel (Grand Hotel de Bordeaux or similar). Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Vintage Wines of the Médoc (150 km)
Breakfast. Enjoy our day with a tour of the some of the most prestigious vineyards of the Medoc region in the company of your wine expert guide, and a chance to discover the secrets of the wine-making process through the different stages, and the gustatory characteristics of a “Grand Cru Classe” vintage. Visits and tastings of 2 different cellars. Free time for lunch. In Gradignan visit the Mediaeval Garden of Pierral, with its herb and aromatic plant collection. Learn about their beneficial properties and test your olfactory senses in a workshop full of subtly perfumed essential oils. Overnight.
Day 3 Vegetables of Yesteryear and Sweet Sauternes Wines (80 km)
Breakfast and Direction Sadirac for a guided tour of a totally unique organic garden entirely devoted to old varieties of fruit and vegetables: nettles, dandelions, Jerusalem artichokes, physalis and suchlike. An introduction to the smells and tastes of long ago to surprise all cookery enthusiasts! Free time for lunch. On then to the renowned Sauternes vineyards. Visit to Cazeneuve Castle with its Royal apartments and mediaeval cellars, expansive tree filled grounds and finally a sampling of some sweet white Sauternes wines. Return to the hotel for overnight.
Day 4 Bordeaux – Burgundy
Flights booked by your own arrangments. Transfer from Lyon airport to the city center and sightseeingtour. Lunch in a typical Bouchon – Afternoon transfer to Beaune. Check in to you hotel (Hotel Le Cedre in Beaune or similar). Overnight.
Day 5 Beaune and the Côtes de Nuit
Breakfast. Visit of the Hospices de Beaune and tasting at le Marché aux Vins of Beaune. Lunch on your own. Coach tour through the Côtes de Nuit’s famous vineyards. Visits and tastings sessions in two different cellars. Back to your hotel and Overnight.
Day 6 Beaune – Champagne – Paris
Breakfast. Leave Beaune to Paris via Champagne. Stop in Epernay. Guided Visit of Moet et Chandon famous Champagne cellar. Tasting. Go on to Reims. Lunch on your own within the city. Guided visit of the “Maison Fossier” fabric of one of the oldest French biscuits and one of the last genuine “bis-cuits”. Transfer to Paris. Check in to your hotel (NH Hotel Lotti or similar). Overnight.
Day 7 Paris, City of Light
After breakfast. Sightseeing tour of the city’s classic landmarks : the Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, the Invalides and grand avenues (duration about 3 hours). Lunch on your own and afternoon at leisure. Enjoy a farewell dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Departure
Breakfast. Check out and transfer to Paris airport for the return flight (flight under your own responsibility). End of our services.
